Susan Boyle's Dancing With the Stars
>> November 11, 2009
The Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle appeared on the Dancing With the Stars results show Tuesday night to promote her new album. She sang her favorite song "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables.
Before she became an overnight Internet sensation in April, Boyle lived alone with her cat, Pebbles, in a Scottish village, dreaming of making it big as a singer.
But as the adage states: "Be careful what you wish for."
The 48-year-old church volunteer, who claims to have never kissed a man, shot to international stardom with her tear-inducing rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" on "Britain's Got Talent." Along with the fame, however, came an amazing amount of pressure.
Soon, Boyle's dream of becoming a singing sensation turned into a nightmare. In an interview with the U.K.'s Daily Mail, she reveals that "fame was like a steamroller; it flattened me."
